Thank you to Kiewit Engineering for hosting the Johnson County recycling event in their parking lot. There was a lot of traffic through their parking lot but everything was kept moving and went smoothly.

I helped build 4 plants for Kiewit. Cove Point LNG, Birdsboro Power, Hickory Run, and Blue Water energy. Kiewit was my favorite contractor until Blue Water and a superintendent named Rich Tomlinson. Rich is inept, and he pushes his poor performance onto the workmen. Rich was in charge of the turbine piping at BWEC, and he just didnt know the job and tools needed. Ive never before or since been on a job and been told to beat a stainless pipe into round (sch 10 is often egg shaped) with a sledge hammer. No. We are professionals. We use a Mathey Dearman clamp, or we make push pull dogs. Not Rich and I quote "If you cant get that pipe round and welded with that hammer and 2x4, I'll get someone who will, we've done it that way for years" there were dozens of examples just like that on this, and only this job. Rich made working for Kiewit terrible. Havent worked for them since and probably wouldn't again. Rich is whats wrong with construction, cant wait till all the ignorant "old school" hands are retired.
