If there were more stars to click beyond 5, I would click them all! I called PST because I had some concerns about a pole being moved as part of our basement renovation, in order to clear some space to place a couch. The contractor working on our basement said that it should be fine to move it about 2 feet, but that raised a red flag for me. After a quick google search, I found PST and explained my concern to the nice gentleman (Bernie) who answered the phone. He asked me some questions about our home, and right away without hesitation he thoroughly explained the structural and financial impact it could have on my home (and our pockets!). Bernie is very easy to talk to, a great listener, extremely knowledgeable, and honest....which tells me that this company isn't out to "cheat people" or take advantage of people who know very little about this stuff, because I am a person who knows nothing about this stuff! As a result of such a wonderful experience with Bernie, they've gained a customer for life, and I will be recommending PST Engineering to anyone who needs engineering services! I contacted several foundation companies and after getting reports ranging anywhere from "Nothing wrong" all the way up to "$25,000 in damage" I decided to have a licensed engineer take a look. As soon as Frank was on site he got to work examining, measuring, and asking questions. Frank takes his work seriously but is an easy guy to talk to and explains everything in easy to understand terms. His final report was extremely detailed and saved me THOUSANDS by telling me exactly what was going on with my foundation. Their prices are very reasonable for the peace of mind and level of service they provide. Their office manager Robin is exceptional and worked with my schedule to make the whole process easy and simple!

I called Robin on a Tuesday to see If Frank was available to do a structural inspection as soon as possible. Robin squeezed me into Franks busy schedule within 2 days. Robin is VERY personable and she even took the time to listen to my long rant. When Frank came out, he was professional and personable as well. He has 30 years of experience with impressive knowledge. Everything turned out great on our property, but he still took the time to explain how to maintain the foundation of your home. We called PST Engineering to get some more in depth understanding about why we were experiencing foundation cracks seeping water into our concrete basement and also to clarify some information we had been given by various other foundation repair companies. Frank was quick to reply directly, quick to schedule us in and incredibly on task with communication prior to our appointment. During our home inspection his vast knowledge was incredibly helpful. He was honest, professional and gave us the break down of how to appropriately repair and care for our home in a cost efficient way that we could execute ourselves.

His education and wisdom allowed us to confirm many suspicions about the inadequate drainage problems and bounce ideas off him that would and wouldn't work. He was thorough in his inspection, catching and pointing out many little details every other foundation company had missed completely. We gathered much needed information from his evaluation to move forward and make solid decisions - rather than be emotionally swayed into purchases from commercial companies looking to make a profit off our lack of knowledge.

The inspection Frank gave will save us thousands of dollars in quick-fix home repairs that would have been a temporary band-aid on an ongoing issue. He's exceptionally friendly and patient with customers many questions. We 100% feel well cared for and our concerns were more than adequately addressed with the help of his exceptional service. In anticipation of a new roof installation on our commercial building, we were in need of a review of our structure by an engineer. After reaching out to a few, we chose PST to perform the analysis.

Not having engaged an engineer before, we were truly clueless as to the cost of these services. In the beginning, we were a bit taken back with the bid. It seemed so expensive just to get some pieces of paper that only identified our needs. Since we still needed to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make the corrective actions, the process seemed too much. However, as we compared the PST expense to the overall value of the property, we realized that investing less than 1% of the total worth was a very small price to pay.

PST people are very professional in their communications and one on one dealings. We felt a true sense of caring for our best interest. We were treated with respect and honesty.

We only have one regret. We should have hired them BEFORE the purchase. Their report would have given us some negotiation points to help offset the cost of the repair work.
